The August 16 edition of this newspaper includes a detailed explanation of the Observatory’s great success since its inauguration in early July.
There is also a section dedicated to the creation of this project, which was made possible by the efforts and the interest of its promoters and the local Town Council, which is committed to reducing light pollution.
The newspaper also mentioned how recognition from the International Dark Association (IDA) made this space the first Dark Sky Park in the country. The quality of Albanyà’s night skies is exceptional, and this is proven by the presence of the Graellsia isabelae butterfly, a species that flees away from light.
