Albanya Observatory construction

Albanyà Observatory construction began in April 2017, after months of design and planning.

To make this advanced observatory a reality, worldwide materials and equipment have been used, for instance, from Germany, Canada, Spain, the United States of America, Italy, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, People's Republic of China and Sweden.

Some of its filters and components have been manufactured by companies which regularly cooperate with NASA in terms of telescope design and maintenance, among which the Hubble Space Telescope.

Segunda fase: a new stadium with heated sits and a great capacity is built with the goal to enable our guests to be comfortable all year around. A new lighting system is setup to highlight the presentation of the stargazing sessions. A very dim illumination is used, and all colour lights are turned off before astronomical twilight except for red and orange lighting to preserve the night sky. A new soundtrack specially composed for the occasion by Pep Sala enables visitors to have a remarkable experience.
