PERE GUERRA

Observatori's founder

Computer scientist, advanced amateur astronomer and serial entrepreneur. Guerra is the founder of Observatori Astronòmic Albanyà, which hosts the biggest telescope in the province of Girona and is dedicated to science outreach and research. Since its inauguration on July 2017, Observatori Astronòmic Albanyà has been visited by almost 15.000 people.

In the field of astronomy research, Guerra specializes in exoplanet differential photometry. He is co-author of the publication Ephemeris refinement of 21 Hot Jupiter exoplanets with high timing uncertainties (arXiv:1812.05882).

Since November 2018, Guerra is a member of TFOP SG1 Team of NASA’s TESS mission, and is working on seeing-limited photometry.

PAU BOSCH

Observatori Astronòmic Albanyà director, graduated in theoretical physics from the University of Barcelona and a usual scientific popularizer in astrophysics and cosmology. Pau has collaborated on investigation about galaxies' formation and evolution. Nowadays, he belongs to NASA's TESS spacecraft tracking group, searching for possible candidates of habitable planets beyond the solar system.

PEP SALA

Music & art direction

Pep Sala: Renowned musician, composer, lyricist and music producer. As co-leader of the band Sau, Pep Sala has participated on tours, concerts, records and productions in Catalonia, Spain and Europe.

After musical studies in the United Kingdom, Pep Sala collaborated on various soundtracks for the company Warner Bros in London and Ireland, and was part of groups such as Midnite Hour, Eclipse and Ninja, touring around Europe. With a 40 year career and more than 500 songs recorded, his compositions have been used by more than 30 artists (Shakira, Dyango, Josep Carreras, Luz Casal...), and some of them have come to sell over a million copies.
