The website Soc Petit has dedicated an article to the inauguration of the Observatory, referring to Albanyà’s privileged geographical location as one of the places in Catalonia and Western Europe “where the stars can best be seen”, as a result of being protected from light pollution.
The text refers to Bassegoda Park campsite's project to create an observatory that would be “unique in the area”, with fully automatic facilities and state-of-the-art equipment. “In fact, the telescope they have created is the largest and most powerful one in the province. It was assembled like a puzzle, with pieces coming from several different countries.”
