Photographic trip: aurora borealis in Lapland (Finland)


From 18th to 25th March 2023

Juan Carlos Casado, president of the Observatori Astronòmic Albanyà, is a worlwide renowned astrophotographer. He can be seen often carrying his professional tools, travelling to different parts of the planet in order to take pictures of eclipses, aurora borealis (Northern Lights), North & South Hemisphere skies...

From 18th to 25th March 2023, Casado will have an special journey: he will go to Lapland (northern Finland), where he will make a complete following of the aurora borealis in the middle of the cold Northern spring equinox. It is a journey organised by Viñolas Viatges with the Observatory's technical assessment. It is a completely exclusive trip! Do you want to experience the aurora borealis next spring?

During the stage, we will discover Lapland and Arctic Circle's magic (at Saariselka area, where we will stay), among others, we will make additional activities such as snow-bikes riding, snowshoes walking, reindeer or huskies night safaris; we will taste the Finnish gastronomy, we will make photography workshops and, obviously, we will take pictures of the aurora borealis!
