In its edition from Monday, July 3, EL PUNT AVUI newspaper dedicated an article to the inauguration of Albanyà Astronomical Observatory, which will “be used by professionals, students and the public in general.”
The author of the text highlights that the Observatory was built in Albanyà “because of the natural characteristics of the location and the municipal policy of reducing light pollution as much as possible, giving it exceptional skies.” As a result, the International Dark Association (IDA) has recognised the town with its International Dark Sky Park seal, making it the only place in the region to receive this distinction.
