From Albanyà to the skies

In its edition from Tuesday, 4July, the weekly magazine HORA NOVA dedicated a large section of text to the inauguration of the Albanyà Astronomical Observatory, including reports in the EL TEMA (the main story), the Editorial and the A DESHORA section.

“To some, it may just seem like a dream, but passion, tenacity and an large network of experts has made the most important astronomical project in the districts of Girona possible.” The place is Albanyà, within Bassegoda Park campsite. The conditions are perfect there. “Albanyà is considered to have one of the best dark skies in Western Europe”, states the first paragraph of the news story, which highlights that the inauguration included important moments like the presentation of the quality night sky seal from the International Dark Sky Association (IDA).

In the editorial, the weekly newspaper refers to the initiative and business project by brothers Pere and Esteve Guerra, as well as the support they received from Albanyà and its local administrations to make the construction of the observatory possible.
