Albanyà, the best place in Spain for seeing the stars

In its Monday, July 3 edition, the Big Vang (LA VANGUARDIA newspaper’s science channel) explained that Albanyà had become the first International Dark Sky Park in Spain after receiving the recognition from the International Dark Sky Association (IDA) on Saturday, July1, during the inauguration of the Albanyà Astronomical Observatory.

The story emphasises the fact that the Observatory will make “technology capable of viewing solar activity and details of planets in the solar system or even asteroids and comets” available to everyone; as well as its intention to make the universe accessible to young people. One of the goals of the new facility is to spread knowledge of astronomy to students of all ages, from primary school to university.
